Towson University's Hillel is partnering with Soles4Souls to collect shoes for Yom HaShoah (יום השואה). Yom HaShoah is observed as Israel's day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the actions carried out by Nazi Germany and its accessories, and for the Jewish resistance in that period.

 

Towson Hillel is collecting shoes in order to commemorate the lives of the 11 million people who were killed during the Holocaust, six million of these were Jews.
